Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good day, I solicited this forum when looking for my 911 and since its all your fault I went out and bought one I figured I would swing by to haunt you. I am looking to do the Conti head unit upgrade in my 2002 code 680 bose analog 996 C2. I have found two different harnesses that I believe could work. 1. https://www.bergvillfx.com/products/...96boxster-bose 2. Connects2 - Vehicle Integration The second has a great deal more going on. I found the first on these forums and the second on a youtube vid on the subject. Continental Headunit Upgrade TR7412UB-OR | How to Guide DIY | Porsche 996 986 987 997 911 GT3 - YouTube Does someone smarter than me on here know what is different between the two and if that results in one being better than the other? Thanks in advance

POST 2Original post

I would buy the coreect harness from bergvill. Their $hit works.

POST 3Original post

The fine print in the first link says: " This harness does not work with Porsche cars equipped with the M680 Bose MOST audio solution. This audio pack relies on a fibre optic connection between the head unit and the amplifier." I would contact BergvillFX and ask for his expertise. In my case (2003 Bose), he did not have a solution for me.

I don't have the MOST system I have the analog Bose so should be ok. What I'm curious about is that the magic box does on the connect2 system vs the bergvill harness.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Tore was able to sort me out. I apparently have a rare external amp Bose system. It's the 680 code but not M680 MOST. The good news being he has a harness for that. Thanks all.

Old thread but Im in the same boat right now. Same head unit as you. I emailed Tore the pic of my old Becker so hopefully he can figure out what I need. I have the Bose option with the external amp and I dont see the optical cable.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
