It's not the outside temperature probe is it? Should normally be mounted in to a moulded fitting in the bumper grilles?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Yep, it's the ouside temp probe. Looks like there's a bit missing around the end of it - maybe that's why it's been taped up?
I thought the outside temp probe was the cone shaped part hanging below this wire which fits into the rad scoop, if so the 2 wires from this go straight into the wiring harness?
Having removed front bumper etc. to clean out radiators, I've noticed a wire/probe taped along the top of the front steel chassis which hangs short of the radiator. Picture attached. I'm worried that I might have damaged something removing the bumper. Would much appreciate if anyone could identify this?
Yes, the thing pointing downwards in your pic is the OAT sensor. That other wire doesn't look original to me, and Porsche don't use duct tape to secure the loom! Perhaps it's the remnants of the wiring for a laser diffuser, or something like that. The bowden type cable looks like the emergency bonnet release, so you might want to tidy that up while you are in there, or it will be a fishing expedition when you need it.
Thanks for your help, I can only think this is possibly something related to the tracker device I had fitted when new??
