Hi there Can anyone advise me on the correct stereo for my 02 plate 996 targa? It came with a retro fit sat-nav unit which has now given up the ghost and needs replacing. Not too bothered about the nav element as I have a tom-tom which is far more user-friendly. I have seen a Porsche CDR-22 on flea-bay but have phoned 2 different OPC and been given 2 different answers as to it's compatability!! Will this work or does it need to be the CDR32 unit that came with the car originally (according to one of the dealers)? Also seen a Becker Grand Prix and a Becker Mexico - will either of these do the trick? Does anyone have any hints?? Many thanks AH

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Thanks - that was very usefull. I should have explained that my budget doesn't extend to the Cascade (unfortunately!!). I am basically looking for a way of getting a Porsche/Becker stereo into the car without breaking the bank. From that thread, am I correct to assume that a Becker Traffic Pro BE4760 would do the job/be compatable, and would also control the CD changer? AH
yes, any almost any Becker system works in a Porsche but would recommend the previous Becker Traffic Pro 7820 rather than the BE4760 as the BE range are very weak ebay offers a good selection
I thought that CDR-22 was pre-MOST and CDR-32 was post-MOST? If an aftermarket device has been installed, then the MOST connectors will have been converted anyway?
