Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've been thinking of buying a 997 Turbo Coupe with a manual transmission, just wondering if there are any buyer beware's I should know of. I currently have an 04 Boxster S and an 82 930, probably end up selling the 930. I guess a PPI would be in order as well as a descent service history Any advice would be greatly appreciated

POST 2Original post

You're absolutely right, a PPI is a must and should tell you everything you need to know in order to make that decision. How many miles are on the Turbo? -Dmitry

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Dmitry, There's three That I'm interested in, they have 40-50 thousand miles on them Jim

Unless someone really beat them up and thoroughly tracked them; 40-50k in miles is very reasonable and the PPI should pass with flying colors. I've attached a link to our tech articles on the 997 for if and when you may do some DIY work... Post some pics when you decide on one Porsche 997 Tech Articles -Dmitry
