Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hello to everyone here - new member, this will be my first P-car after three BMWs, second time I purchased a car from pictures before it was out - did not regret it before, and I am sure PAG will not make me regret it this time ;-) All I can say for people in warmer climets that will have their cars very soon 'you are one lucky person' - expect mine Mar. or Apr. - lets hope the Winter is short this year Ok - now to my problem - I looked at one of the pictures posted recently with both the front trunk and the rear hatch open, and based on my quick calculations from the pictures, the height would be 87.04' (221 cm) which I think is more then the height of the bar on my garage door opener - I live in an older house, and the garage ceiling is low. When I get home from work will need to measure things. I recall this being talked about before, but until I saw the picture of that yellow Cayman in 911 World, I had no idea how very high it was !!! Peter

POST 2Original post

Nothing that a well positioned and glued (on the ceiling) block of foam won't cure. Remember to dangle a parking aid from the ceiling also which is designed to hit the windshield when you have the hatch properly positioned under the foam. Edited by - atr_hugo on 10/31/2005 2:03:42 PM

POST 3Original post

The rear hatch has an intermediate opening. The pictures you are looking at are probably showing the rear hatch at its fully open position. This position is probably designed to accommodate working on the engine. Most times you would not fully raise the rear hatch, but it makes for a great picture, especially when the front hatch is also open. I guess Caimans like to swallow their prey whole!

POST 4Original post

Damme, mpollard, you just made the light go on! Is that 'jaws' look with the hatches open why they named this beast the Cayman???

POST 5Original post

Yup - the reptilian side of this car is the rear end.

POST 6Original post

If Carroll Shelby were doing the Cayman, he would have come up with a stylized Cayman graphic:

POST 7Original post

I think the Reptilian side is actually the front! The big bulgy headlights for eyes, the quite long and shaped nose, and the two air intakes resembling teeth somehow. I think the rear is all Porsche, having Porsche's signature @$$ (I mean the car) as the rear IMO

POST 8Original post

I looked at the taper of the hatch (wide on top - narrow toward the bumper) and thought alligator/crocidile snout.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
