Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, The pedal has snapped off my 2000 996 C2does anybody have a parts breakdown diagram of the accelerator pedal.unit? Many Thanks.

POST 2Original post

The pedal comes as an assembly, I'm afraid. You could probably get a second-hand one from somewhere like Porsch-Apart. The pedal unit will come apart (see photo), and if you fancy trying to rebuild it, I have a spare pedal unit from my C2 tip.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you for the photograph and offer. I have got hold of a second hand unit and can see that the foot plate simply clips into a small plastic section at the base of the unit. I was hoping that I could simply change that piece without the need to remove the whole unit from the floor as I but couldn't work out how the thing was fastened into the floor without having to remove the carpets etc., but I can see from the photograph that the unit has to be split.

POST 5Original post

To get the pedal unit out, just undo screw No 14 in the illustration. My picture just shows it CAN be split - it isn't normal to do this.
