Saw this picture on sixspeed forums and wondered if this was an optional extra or just a USA thing http://i736.photobucket.com/albums/xx9/jsegovia3830/porschetether.jpg

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Looks like a torn bit of carpet? The square thing beside it looks like a subwoofer housing that he's made himself.
Sorry I realise the picture isn't that clear. from what was described on the forum it sounded as tho there's a metal bracket welded onto the chassis so a babyseat can be secured to it. the cut carpet is just covering it up.
That bracket is there on all the cars I think. Is there on mind but just sits behind the carpet.
