Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was thinking about picking up either the muffler delete or cat delete pipe. Which one would be louder if you leave the other parts stock? Which would net more gains? Thanks, MB

POST 2Original post

No mufflers is a lot louder than no cats. HP gains (if any) are debatable. More important is the weight loss.

POST 4Original post

No mufflers will be much louder. Neither change is going to do diddley for your HP.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah, I think the cat delete is the way to go, quieter and those cats generate a lot of heat.

POST 7Original post

Your 996 mufflers weigh in excess of 52lbs. If you are interested in a set of (Fabspeed) muffler bypass pipes...I will have them for sale here shortly as I am removing mine. You'll find them up for sale on our website very soon. 969 Motorsports, Inc.

POST 8Original post

Keep in mind that no-cats means your car stinks. Not great if you are a single person dating and every time you are around your car your hair, clothes, and skin smell like exhausty rotten eggs.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

LOL, uh yeah that would be a problem. It's THAT bad? Yikes, that's a definite no then. Thanks for the warning.
