Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Will the alloys from a 05 997 Carrera2 (19") fit my 04 996 C4S without any issues? the alloys in question are the same as the one in the following ad. http://911uk.com/ads_item.php?id=14 thanks in advance. Steve

not sure if they'd fit, you need to compare the offsets. The diameter will be fine as the tyre will have a lower profile but the overall diameter (inc tyre) may end up slightly different and thus have an effect on the speedo accuracy. Apart from that, they will look a bit naff IMHO, some aftermarket rims can suit the car really well but there's something that looks abit strange to my eyes when std parts from a later model go on a car.

POST 3Original post

The Carrera III 5 spokes (997) are very similar to the Carrera II 5 spokes (996), so I wouldn't be too worried about that. I'd be worried about that Porsche only sold up to 18" wheels on the 996 and the offsets on the 997 are slightly different. Some people have complained of a small rub on full lock and I believe the offsets from the "4" range of the 997 on the rear are quite different. I would look for an aftermarket 19" wheel personally....but seeing the state of our roads, I would avoid a 19" wheel altogether!! PS I've seen that these are the lobster wheels. Personally I think these look fantastic, but agreed they are very different to anything on the 996, so that's something you need to consider.
