Hi, I've seen a good 996.1 tt tip. But I have a 996.2: I believe the 996.1 turbo tip had a zf torque converter and the 996.2 had a MBenz one. Are these boxes interchangeable despite that? Tcu the same? Is the 996.2 a better box? Also, if its just the tc that is different and mb one is better can you swap the mb tc onto a 996.1? Appreciate any help Regards Karl

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

All 996 Turbo Tips had the Daimler-Chrysler (Mercedes) transmission. It was only the 3.4 Carreras that had the ZF box.
