Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

As Borat said. Verrryy nice. X50 Red what's not to like. https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2002-porsche-911-996-turbo-13

POST 3Original post

Problem with a car like that is the low mileage means you cant really use it as it will depreciate a lot more. More a garage queen then.

POST 4Original post

Tend to agree, you're paying a premium for a low mileage example, so would have to keep it low if future value is important to you. that is super low miles, around 700 miles a year

POST 5Original post

Does suggest the question "what's the ideal mileage" for a 96 turbo - low enough for the expensive parts to have some life in them, high enough that you have no concerns about driving it. 60,000 miles?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It is a conundrum, but realistically you could still put a few thousand summer miles on this for the next 5 years and it would still be much lower mileage than 99% of the cars out there. I've bought 3 ultra low mileage Porsches a 986,987 and a 996 in the last few years. All with similar or less miles than this car ,low owners and good service history. Other than routine servicing/ tyres etc they have cost me little or zero extra in unforeseen costs. I often read posts saying I wouldn't touch a low mileage car as everything will be worn out due to age, little use etc. I can only say thankfully my experience is different and the cars have all felt mechanically tight and a joy to drive. In the case of the 986/7 cost less than the cost of a new modern day shopping trolley. Have you seen the cost of new cars lately

POST 7Original post

I reckon it would have to be a very good day for that. This one here albeit a cab but only has 36k miles is 58 thou and that's dealer prices.

POST 8Original post

It is a cab and an automatic. No real comparison. MC

POST 9Original post

So take off dealers profit that brings that down to low 50s? Plus cc buyers got to pay a commission. I still think 75 would be a big price but I get it re the cab and manual too 🤔

POST 10Original post

I agree it would have to be a very good day, but add in half the mileage, guards red and X50 and for someone that would make their very good day! Bit of a unicorn spec. Will be interesting to see.

POST 11Original post

The one that I posted has the X50 and PCCB's although granted its still a cab and its still an auto

POST 12Original post

Chrono24 has neat graphs per watch that show asking price over time - does Collecting Cars have anything similar? It'd be an interesting resource if so. On a different, but related note, I think I'd quite like a turbo at some point.

POST 13Original post

Got a love them in Guards..I thought mine was low on 58k !!

POST 15Original post

Been on ebay 2 or 3 times already. I think the buy now was around 55k Not sure but the option sticker on the underneath of the bonnet doesnt look right, incorrect font maybe?
