Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I think we'll all agree that the C4S front and rear bumpers look fantastic and give the 996 more presence. I am thinking of fitting C4S front and rear bumpers on my standard 2000 996 carrera tiptronic s. Is this conversion possible and has anyone on here done it?

POST 2Original post

Don't do it, they just don't look right on narrow bodied cars. But if you must, have a look here: http://www.design911.co.uk/spoilers_gallery.htm (towards the bottom)

POST 3Original post

The rear of the C4S is wider, so the rear bumper won't fit...although, IIRC the bumper at the read is the same the narrow body 996 (except wider) anyway. You can fit the C4S bumper to the front of the narrow body 996, but again (IIRC) it can affect the handling and the car also needs something else doing to compensate (maybe I'm getting confused with the Turbo spoiler!!). The 911 special edition 996 has the Turbo nose on a narrow body car, so it's possible. This model also had a few other mods as well though, such as wider track, M30 (I think) lowering kit plus side skirts.

POST 4Original post

don't know how since the car came with it but mine has a c4s bumper (standard c2) and i think looks great. Have a look at mine in the garage if you can make it out, gives the car a wider more aggressive stance i think....

The GT3 is narrow bodied, the 4S, Turbo and GT2 are wide bodied. It's not just look the rear track is significantly wider. I miss my big bummed 4S
