Has anyone got experience of the EVOMS stage 2 upgrade for the 996 carrera ? I notice Regal Racing in Southampton offer this for about £1732 inc VAT. It comprises Millteck back exhaust and other goodies and I am told delivers about +30bhp and a better exhaust note. I would welcome any experience or comments on this. Thanks.

I had the stage 1 inc EVOMS CAI and REVO map on my previous 996 from Regal. It definetely smoothed out the power delivery but whether or not you gain any hp is up to debate (couldn't dyno there as AWD). I'm sure you get an increase but manufacturers will say anything to get you to part with cash... Saying that though I did look at getting the stage 2 on my current 996. The thing that stopped me was the Miltek system. I felt that there were other options out there which would be better suited, but then that's just my opinion. I've currently got the CAI and new Manthey mufflers and will get remapped by either REVO or Parr so it will effectively be a 'stage 2' but at £££s more. Regals deal though is really good value considering it includes fitting, plus they're a good bunch of guys (and girl) Whether any of that helps you I don't know...
Stuart, thanks for your response which is useful. Could you elaborate on why you thought the Miltek system was not as suited as others. It might help my decision........I have also been considering the Porsche sports exhaust, but that is over two grand and doesn't deliver any power or torque benefits. I am also told the Miltek gives a bit more presence anyway. Thanks Mark
It really depends on what you want. In all honesty if you want exhaust note there is only one option and that's the Porsche Sports Exhaust. Hands down it's the winner on sound. A friend has it on his and when we are driving along I get serious exhaust envy... Infact one just went passed my open window and I didn't even need to see it, the sound is so distinctively Porsche. Saying that though his weighs alot more than mine and has no added performance benefit, and mine sounds more cup car at WOT and subtle at idle. So what do you really want? Noise or performance? I chose performance but at a relative budget (there are plenty of high end complete systems which will set you back a serious packet ie Europipe). By all acounts the Miltek is a good system but for that money you've also got manufacturers such as Agency Power, Fabspeed etc etc. If you can see if you can hear it in person before choosing. If I could go back I think I'd have the PSE now even with the added weight (minus the switch ofcourse :twisted Although... I will be adding 100CEL CAT pipes which will 'open' the grunt up a bit
