Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Morning everyone, I am just wondering how i would find out the exact colour of my seats? Is there going to be a big label under one of them saying colour: ???? and of course wash at 30 degrees and do not dry clean? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Isn't it on the option codes? Let me know roughly the colour and I'll have a look in the options book...as long as they aren't a special colour.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sorry i might be coming across as being thick but options code? They are black and they are on my 2000 C4 but i am scared there is going to be 100+ difference blacks ranging from 8125 black to 4248 black!

POST 4Original post

Option code in the front of your service book and under the bonnet, it's a sticker. I'm not sure that it says the colour seats thinking about it....have a look on the decoder on this site. Thinking about it, the colour of the car and seat is definitely listed somewhere in the car, because I remember Mark @ Stirlings saying where to look. There was only one black according to the option book, unless it was special order (or dark grey!).

POST 5Original post

The interior colour code will be listed on the factory sticker. Look in your service book, first few pages. They'll be a section on the sticker with the paint code and interior colour code. Can't say this for absolute certain on a 996, but I'd be suprised if it's any different to any other model. Certainly is this way on a 993.

POST 6Original post

Yes, you're exactly right. The sticker on page 4 of the 996 service manual shows the colours page 5 tells you how to decode the sticker. Mine says L6B4 (seal grey) AH (which I presume means black leather) (as page 5 says paint code / interior trim) It's above the optional equipment list, which for UK cars, starts C16. Cheers.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
