Buying a 996 Targa -- help please!

I thought I'd throw this open to all rather than just the 996 camp!!! Right .. in brief. Well I've said it all really! I want a 996 Targa ... What should I buy? £30-£35 grand -ish What should I look out for pros and cons! The market seems very odd .. even more so at present so I'm lost!!!! Are very late models worth that extra cash? Or is a face lift model fully loaded with all the kit a better option? So guys (and gals) Helllllllp! :? :? :wink: :roll: :worship: :?:

Hi David, welcome to the forum :thumb: . All Targa 996 models are facelift ones so they all come with the later 3.6 litre engine. Desirable options to look out for are PSM, upgraded sound system (if not BOSE), sports exhaust and the 18" Carrera II wheels. Nice to have include part or full aluminium kit, PCM, and full electric/sports seats (stock seats are with electric backrest tilt only). Please post up some pics when you get her. Are you going for a tippy or a manual? Which model year will it be and what colour combo are you looking at? ~ Maxie

make sure all the roof parts works as they should could cost a bit if they don't and the other thing with some of the roof is they can rattle like hell an be annoying, all other usuals service to date a/c works no coolant leaks and no oil leaks from the dreaded rms other than that nice cars

Thanks Maxie ummm actually I've been here a while .. glad I've made an impression! lol Currently have a "98 C2 .. love it but the Targa will work better! I know I'm going to take a hit selling the C2! :nooo: I kinda thought just look for high spec .. as that made sense to me! I do like this car and they seem genuine guys ..
