In roughly a year or so I am thinking of getting a 996 carrera or turbo (dependent on price and how much I cash saved) and would like to know if it is possible to get a GT3R or RSR bodykit for either MK1 or MK2 996 carrera?

There are a few RSR bodykits around for the MkII 996 Carrera. Here is the best value kit, which looks the same but is the best price amongst competitors; http://www.esta-international.com/porsche-996-gt3-rsr-style.html It comes to $5700, or £3800.

Blimey, that Prestige car looks amazing! How much would that set you back? You can get the real deal for around £50k (not road legal of course) this bodykit + donor car can't be too far off?
It's pretty neat eh? A bit to fussy for my liking though! Well an MkII 996 will cost you £22 - 23000 + the body kit at £3800 =An RSR replica for around £26000!
hmmmm £3800 including wheels...new paint, etc, etc, etc???
Rodney - don't even think about it - how many splitters do you think you would bust per mile with that front end? [ ] [ ]
Thanks for the info that answers my question and now makes it a tougher choice on deciding what car I should be aiming for now. The Prestige kit does look really nice and it seems they also do one for a MK1 GT3R as well which looks quite nice. www.prestigebodykits.com/products/prestige-type-porsche-996-gt3-rsr-mk1-front-fender-pair-cf-pic-216.html and www.prestigebodykits.com/products/prestige-type-porsche-996-gt3-rsr-mk1-rear-fender-pair-fpr-pic-219.html I know it's the wrong forum but is it possible to get a decent exhaust for 996 turbo which can make sound as good as or nearly as good as a normally aspirated 996?
I agree with xaftershockx the wheels and tyres alone would set you back over £3,800. Richard what do you mean there's at least 2 solid inches of ground clearance there! Anyway with the money saved from buying a real one you could pay someone to pick up the fallen splitters as you drive along![ ] http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/showProfile.asp?memid=12515
Can I buy a beetle for a couple of hundred and fit this kit?? Save me a fortune!!!
