Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All ... newbie here. Just got my first porsche... 996 c4s and already I'm smitten. Anyway to the point, I have PCM (PCM3.0) with CD changer and Bose sound pack... all very good. What I want to do is connect my ipod. I have read sooo many threads on this talking about the options from Denon, moBridge and NAV-TV but all I want to do at this stage is plug my ipod into an aux port connected to the headphone jack on the ipod. Anybody know if this can be done with a MOST system? I did have a full on ipod connector in my Audi S3 and I found that the ouput levels on the ipods port were very low and some tracks are then very quiet. cheers

Do not know if this will help (actually I am sort of hijacking your topic for I need help on the same area) I was at Halford's today for a different reason and while browsing around I saw that they offer a couple of kits to add an iPod connection. The kind of sophisticated one is a Harman-Kardon concoction that allows you to see what's playing via a smallish screen and includes a (wired) remote control for the iPod. The simple one was (i think) branded ilink or something of the sort and it look like basically a cable to hook up the iPod to the sound system (I am guessing through some sort of aux input on the standard cdr22/23) They were priced 70/80 quid plus installation -not that I am going to let them touch my beauty, but if they can do it... They had a list of compatible car installations and the 996 (I have an 02 Targa) was listed. Anybody out there had some experience with any of those?
