I have just been measuring up the garage at home, just to make sure that a 996 will fit. I'm sure it would......turns out i've got about 100mm all round. My house is 20 years old, so i checked the dimensions of 911's out in the late 80's and yes they were smaller. The way Porsche are going, i'll need to move house quick, otherwise no Porsche for me - and there is no way it is living outside. Anybody else suffer with tiny garages, or not fitting at all? I have heard stories of people buying cars only to find they won't fit...do people really do that ?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My garage is not very wide (late 90's house), think it's 8'1", car goes through the door, then I have carpeted along the wall where I get out to ensure no damage......after a couple of years doing it seems fine........ My other car(s) all seem to have been wider and so I have less room though, one wouldn't even fit, at all
My 944 fitted a treat - bit long mind - as did my 964 and my 993 - both turbo bodied versions. My GT3 is a bit longer than the other two 911s and a lot wider but the long doors and pronounced tumblehome cause the biggest problem as it is actually very difficult to squeeze through the top of the gap (plenty of room at the bottom) when the window is up plus there is not enough room to get out with the window down and then get back far enough in to wind it up again. Hey, we live and learn.....
Scott with our cabrios you can jump out of the top
well a cab would be my first choice - for the kids of course.. - and for a moment i considered a drop down ladder straight up into my sons bedroom which is over the garage. Not sure the wife would go for it.
I live in an early 70's house with seperate garage and its a squeeze to get my C4S in 8) Its getting it through the narrow door thats the problem, I can open the door inside the garage is that big :floor: I think of the C4S as a like a cat with its whiskers, if the wing mirrors fit through the arse end will :floor:
70's house and me with accelerating waistline. not the best combo ! bit of delicate driving, markers on wall and best axminster nailed to wall on drivers side does the trick !
Don't forget the wing mirrors !! It may not fit mate even with them folded in. They aren't that delicate they can't live outside, mine lives outside and is fine
Mine gets driven every day and lives outside too :thumb: TB
I fit carpet alongside the wall as well like Scott to stop unnecessary scrapes. ~ Maxie
