Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, Has anyone else purchased the Forge boost hoses kit for their 996 turbo? I'm finding that the longer aluminium end sections and jubilee clips holding them cause a fitment issue/clash with the bodywork vs the standard parts that have no features larger than the hose diameter. Particularly, the issue is with the two top hoses where they pass through the bodywork of the car to reach the intercoolers. On my car the jubilee clips want to sit exactly in line with the bodywork.. so don't fit. I've got them in and seemingly tight but the clips are skewed on the hose, tipped over by the worm drive boss that doesn't fit through the hole. I'm not very satisfied and a hose blowing off at that end would be a major pain if it happens after I've re-fitted the bumper etc! Other than that I had to cut all four hoses down to match the lengths of the original parts but this wasn't too big a deal once I'd realised the issue.

yes you have to trim them, measure twice cut once :thumb: As for the jubilee clips, with the bumper off push hose through the inner wing and connect to the intercooler. then put the jubilee clip on and tighten, on the inside of the inner wing, as for the clip blowing/coming off, well no, the hose would burst first I'm sure.

Thank you for the good advice, I had a go at fitting from that side but didn't manage it with the intercoolers in situ. Knowing it's been done that way really helps, I'll probably loosen/remove the intercoolers slightly to get better access. The other 6 connections feel rock solid so it should be a worthwhile upgrade if I can secure those last two joints. My old hoses had many wrinkles as evidence the the connections out of the turbo were expanding under boost where they'd got hottest.

Let us all know how you get on, and don't forget some pictures 👍👍🇬🇧

I also fitted them, although I remember I had to cut and fiddle with them until I was happy...

Off topic on my own topic Stewpot but did the anti roll bars make much difference? My car is at least as stiff as I'd ever want, does have more tendancy to 'hop' off bumps than a standard car, but it still looks like it's riding on the door handles in track day photos and I have an issue where it unloads the inside front wheel (and locks up because I disable ABS, to disable PSM) if even very mildly trail braking. ARB's are definitely next on my list at the moment.

Yes a vast improvement over oem, one of my first mods

Thanks both. Your engine bays look sickeningly clean! Putting my car to shame. Need to get out there with some autoglym products before I dare post pictures
