Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, I am in the process of removing my kenwood car play unit and going down the single din route to allow for centre console delete. As my car has the double din set up I am aware I need the part in the picture but will I need some kind of metal bracket behind that so support the weight of the climate unit and headunit? I currently have bose speakers, sub and amp. I presume this will be compatible? https://www.vdoshop.co.uk/passenger...ental-branded-orange-illumination-detail.html Any better suggestions for orange backlit headunits? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

Are you 100% fixed on having an old school head unit? Headunits have come on a long way in the past 30 years, with apps like Waze, Google Maps Sat Nav, Android Auto, Digital Radio, etc being very useful additions to the functionality within the car. For a single DIN unit, I would consider something like this... https://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-pioneer-sph10bt_p-40925.htm Gives you a screen (your smart phone) for SatNav and more detailed controls when you need it, or a simple single DIN head unit when you don't. Also gives you somewhere to keep your phone if you're deleting a storage cubby.

Thanks for the reply but I am quite keen on just having a traditional looking radio with basic functionality. Don't really need the smart phone integration. A big reason for the change is to make the cabin look more in keeping with the cars era.
