Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yesterday as I was driving home, the accelerator developed a strange problem - the amound of travel in it was nowhere near it used to be and the starting point of the pedal seemed to be forward of where it used to be. When I stopped, I had a look at the pedal and noticed that I could completely lift it backwards. Underneath there was a wee joystick type arrangement with a balljoint at the top. Question is, should pedal be able to lift up like that or should the balljoint be engaged in the pedal. If it's the latter, has anyone an easy way of re-engaging it or does it need a trip to the garage for a new pedal assembly?

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Job Done!! The balljoint SHOULD be attached to the pedal - a pair of pliers and a good sharp push got it located back in. The difference is immense - it's like driving a different car!! instant throttle reponse and plenty of it. Off for a drive now!!

Well done! It's great sorting out a problem yourself and not having to visit your OPC!
