Might seem like a daft thing to ask but does anyone know if it's generally ok to leave the electric spoiler in the up position? When it rains and the car is parked is it likely to get on the engine? I prefer the look of the car with the electric spoiler in the up position. Lastly, is it possible to permanently leave it in the up position? Disconnect something under the spoiler? Thanks in advance.

Hi, Welcome to the the group. A very interesting question. You can keep the spoiler in the up position by flicking the switch in the footwell by the door above the accelerator. So when you park up and you leave the spoiler up and walk off out of sight who is benefitting   are you really not giving everyone else the benefit of how good your car looks :thumb: Cheers Alan
LOL Thanks Alan, it's mainly when it's on the driveway and I do my every fifteen minutes glance out of the window
Not sure I'd want to leave the spoiler in the up position when unattended cause some idiot will want to see if they can bend it, twist it, lean on it etc. A better option would be to fit a fixed spoiler if you prefer that look.
Good point. Thanks.
Have to agree with APW. Keep the spoiler down when parked Enjoy it when you hit 75 and see it raise. Or as suggested chop it in for a more aggressive spoiler.
i thought it went up at 50mph?
I thought it was 75mph as well, which I always thought was a little stupid as it gives a very obvious statement that the Porsche speedo over-reads by about 5mph The only problem is that unless you're in the car behind, you cannot see the spoiler rise. Well, I'm 6ft and I can't see the spoiler in my rear view mirror.
So you guys can see your spoiler in the raised position when you're driving along......? ~ Maxie :?
I can see mine go up and down, it's also more 'active' if you're doing some spirited driving :thumb:
Well I'm flabbergasted....! It must be the Targa models where the raised spoiler is not in view. ~ Maxie :x
I can see mine come up, just the top of it in the rear veiw mirror. It comes up at 75MPH i think. then goes back down again when i drop below 50.
mine pops up at 75 drops at 38 and sadly I do look in the mirror to see it. TB
Dont forget that if you install a fixed spoiler in the rear, due to the increased downforce it will be also necessary to get the front lip installed too. Im not too sure on the exact technical reasons behind.... Im sure someone will enlighten..
I can't see mine when its up I actually asked my mate to drive down the road so i could see my car with the spoiler up being driven ! god I'm sad :wack:
