I've been lurking since I got my '07 CS in April. I love the boards and have learned a lot. Well, I bought my CS with about 900 miles on it. I now have about 4200 miles on it. Today I encounterd a strange problem with the clutch that may or may not be similar to what others have described. I stopped on a steep incline today and had trouble getting up the hill. At first, it didn't feel like the clutch wanted to engage. The second time I tried, the engine stayed at about 4k RPMs, and the clutch felt like it was only partly engaged. The clutch pedal wasn't stuck on the floor, but was stuck about halfway down. It finally released after a few seconds and I made it up the hill. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Could it be inexperience with the Cayman manual clutch and inclines? It is something that has to be learned and can be a little tricky at first. I'd try to replicate it. But if it persists then by all means see your dealer to make sure that it isn't one of the two known clutch problems (pressure bolts and lubrication).
I have the same problem. On steep inclines or a hard start the clutch will slip. It is perfectly fine once the car is moving, but it doesn't seem to engage properly from a dead start. ps, I had a high performance clutch and flywheel in my g35 for over 2 years and never stalled or slipped it.
Thanks for the responses. I don't think it was a problem with me being unfamiliar w/ the car. There was also a sort of burning smell after it happened. Chops, did you have it looked at? This doesn't seem like something that should be 'normal.'
