The company I work for (Levi, Ray & Shoup, Inc.) is the primary sponsor for the Top Fuel Funny Car driven by Tim Wilkerson. My role is a marketing representative so annually I attend the Englishtown, NJ race and this year for the first time in Reading, PA. I was at Reading a few weeks ago and got down to the starting line for one of the qualifying runs. A good friend shot this video which I edited and put up on YouTube. Sounds insane from this vantage point! You Tube

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

yep
I had a chance once to stand right at the back of a top fuel as it took off the line, so close in fact I got splattered with rubber bits..... nothing - NOTHING sounds as cool or feels as cool as 7k HP in your face love it, dont want to go watch it every year, but once in a while I gotta get "a fix"
Nice stuff! I used to attend the NHRA Supernationals at Englishtown each year - great stuff to see, although, I hated getting close to those cars when they were running - combustion products of nitromethane are lachrymators and hurt like hell when you breathe them in.
I keep up with NHRA, NMRA and ADRL. My personal fave is the NMRA Super Street Outlaw class aka. the 'Ten Inch Freakshow' Running in the 6;s on a ten inch DOT tire is unreal....
the top fuel cars are amazingly powerful and LOUD. It makes the ground shake. I like the NHRA stuff but NMRA and ADRL is pretty cool too. Like Abby said, those 10 inch tire cars are unreal, some "look" relatively stock until you see the interior inside is carbon fiber and the tube frame is hidden beneath the stock fenders and the add a 300-700 shot of nitrous.
Love the nitro cars! I live 2300 yards from the Pacific Raceway dragstrip. They shake the house!!!
