Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have standard 17 inch Carrera wheels on my 996 and am tempted by the refurbished 18 inch Sport Design ones from Porscheshop. With regards to ride and handling, is there much different with the move up in size? I like the way the car handles and rides on the 17s. On other makes I find there is less steering feel from larger wheels. Any advice is appreciated.

POST 2Original post

I have sports design alloys and they handle fine although to be honest I wouldn't know any different although I'm not sure if I like them to be honest and may change them in the future, what are your 17's ?? Could be intersted if you sell them.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

sent you an email re my alloys

POST 4Original post

Can't say I've ever driven one with 17" wheels but mine has been on 18" Carrera alloys since the day it left the factory and there are certainly no complaints from me with regards to ride / handling.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone any recommendations whether to go for the refurbished original wheels from Porscheshop/Jasmine Motorsport or the new replica ones made by RH of Germany from Design 911. They are supposed to be the same weight.
