Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

i just recently got my vehicle from Rusnak and i noticed that when i drive the car i hear a rattling sound at the bottom of the car. I took it back to the dealer ship and they said that the catalytic converter needs to warm up. In my whole life of cars i have never been told that the catalytic converter needs to warm up. Is this true or is there something else?

POST 2Original post

That doesn't sound right. Do yourself a favor and go to a good independent service shop and get a thorough inspection. If there is any warranty work that needs to be done then take it back to the dealership. Good luck and enjoy the new ride. Great car. Post some pics.

POST 3Original post

I took it to an independent service shop and they told me the exact samething when i told them i heared ratteling sounds

POST 4Original post

FWIW, my Miata has the same issue. It's an aftermarket cat, but it makes the rattling noise at a certain RPM until it's warm. Doesn't help you, I know. I find it really annoying too.

POST 5Original post

That's a new one on me. I have an 07 too and I don't hear any rattling on mine when its cold and warming up. I'd call one or two more shops.

POST 6Original post

Doesn't sound right to me either. I've had several Porsche's since 1999 and have never heard rattling from the bottom or back of the car. The PSE valves can make a rasping type noise but it's clearly not a rattle. Did your indie take a look at the car or did he just talk about it?

POST 8Original post

Find a new shop and talk about it when she's on the lift and slightly vulnerable.
