Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know I have seen info on this but I can’t find it and it is driving me nuts. Most of the time when I press the brake pedal and turn the key I hear a click the dash lights come on and my 987S starts right up. BUT sometimes I press the brake pedal and turn the key nothing happens... I then turn It back and forth a few times and within 30 seconds or less I hear the click and it starts.? Can someone tell me What is causing this? Thanks

POST 2Original post

These cars are known to have some bizarre ignition switch issues. This sounds like one of them so it may be time for a new one.

Thanks I will look into it further. It never happens first thing in the morning or after sitting for awhile. Usually if I try to restart shortly after turning it off say 5 min later... I would love to hear if anyone else has had a similar problem. Cheers
