Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can someone help me identify this pipe? It's located on the right side of the engine next to the exhaust header. 3.6 liter engine. It's the smaller shiny one in the middle. I have determined this pipe is the source of a rattle I have been hearing for 5 years. I can wiggle the pipe a bit and simulate the clank. I'm not sure how to fix this.

Isnt' that the support for the muffler? Find a parts diagram and look there.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah, i think you are right. I dabbed some JB Weld where the pipe meets the bracket. We'll see.

POST 5Original post

it is the muffler hanger, could be cracked at the topside which is hard to see, drop the rear of the engine and get better view and access.
