I was disappointed to find out that the Cayman S would not be displayed at the auto show this week in Miami Beach. Why wouldnt Porsche want to display the car when it is already taking orders for sale?? Anyone know?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Most autoshows are organized by local dealership councils. Only a handful are truly manufacturer supported (even the great Chicago autoshow is a dealership sponsered show). The dealer council will ask for specific vehicles, including concepts, to be trotted out for their show, and the manufacturers will respond based on the volume drawn to the show and vehicle availability. If San Fran and Des Moines have shows in the same week, you can bet on which one will get the cars. Very often low volume dealers won't have a big say in what is included or not in the available floor space. It's a shame but that's the breaks.
I believe LA will be the first N. American show to display
The S Florida dealers tried to get a Cayman at the Miami show. Obviously it didn't come off, probably because PCNA decided to stick with the Detroit/LA launch and delivery schedule. If the car isshown offically at Miami, why not start selling them??? S Florida is a big market, but evidently not big enough!
I know someone posted this already but I can't find it, but when is the L.A. show and where? Thanks Russ
Well, LA obviously! ; -) (Sorry couldn't resist ; -). LA Autoshow
A OK Hugo, We do have to keep our sense of humor through this trying time of waiting. I was looking for something like Anaheim Convention Center or ???? I just saw a Basalt Black Carrera with Sand Beige and the guy let me give it the once over, it was gorgeous! It had the 19' Carrera Classics. Aloha Russ
LA Convention Center and if you go Russ - take a side trip to the Petersen Musem on Wilshire
The Petersen has this thing, first one to correctly identify it wins a Porsche pen-on-a-lanyard (just a plastic pen - but it is a Major Award!! Sorry no leg-lamps available ; -)
Jaguar!
Nope - not Jaguar. Big hint here, if you can guess the coachwork, you can find the car with a bit of googling.
1960-65 Ferrari 250 GTO prototype
Close but no cigar! Not a Ferrari
Looks Italian bodywork from the 50's-60's.. not fussy enough to be zagato, almost pininfarina, but something says not, ..maybe something by bertone?
scaglietti?
Hmmmm - very warm indeed!!!!
Hmmmm... Not a Ferrari, doesn't look like a Maserati.. Maybe anAC something-or-another?
Something-or-another, but AC is an interesting guess - given one of the sponsors of this car
Must be Ford wearing Jaguar shoes...
Ford and AC, hmmmmm - not that car - but certainly an antecedent
My guess is that it's got to be an American brand as it's an American motor museum. So... something from GM? Cadillac?
Dang - GM based, yes - but GM didn't want anything to do with it. Getting real close.
Maybe I should say sponsor can be a human being (and is in this case).
