What gives? I keep on reading that the Cayman has a 36K km service interval, and when I started my car today, it told me (at 9000km) that I have 1,000km to go before service. Anybody have that ??? No I'm not making a mistake, it's the Porsche, not the BMW or Merc.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Service interval is 2 years OR 20k mi (32k km) My guess is you have an 06 that was punched in March or April of 06 and that's why it's telling you to take the car in for service. If that's not the case, I have no idea.
my car ZP8 date is 20 June 2007. What's happening man?
Didn't they decrease the reccommended service interval with the 2007's?
Not sure they did for 07, but they certainly did for 08
They might have decreased it, but I don't think they decreased it to 10,000km. I swear it's weird. This looks like adaptative service interval behaviour. I never thought that the Porsche service intervals were flexible and adaptative. Does anybody have any information on whether the Porsche Cayman has adaptative service intervals? Because the difference of service intervals between my car and the rest of the cars out there, is so huge!
Have you been driving it real hard?
I bought my '06 CS as new in Dec. 06. Now 15 months later, with about 4200 miles, it already reminds me that I have less than two weeks for interval service (assuming 2-yr service). So you are not the only one.
