Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

£25K for an early 996 turbo- too good to be true? Probably a cat d? Or a believable price for a turbo in ok nick. Or so cheap it probably cost me 20k in fixing stuff?

POST 2Original post

Nope. I've been watching for a good few months now and there are some lovely cars to be had for £25k - £30k. If they hold this low for another 18months - 2yrs I might be jumping ship to a yr 2k car (to avoid the new tax rules).

POST 3Original post

Just saw a 2001 turbo go for 23k at auction. 39k on the clock. Tatty condition, needed a major service, new disks, new pads, wheels needed refurbing, a few scratches and dings, new rear tyres, variocam solenoid, stereo, changer, no paperwork whatsoever. Good ones are still holding on to their value and have been creeping up over the last few months. Just absurd value for money, the mind boggles.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

£23K for a pile of junk? Sounds seriously over-priced: I'm guessing it was bought by someone rather naif.

POST 5Original post

He didn't know a 996 was a 911. Fools and their money
