Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anybody know the reason for the headlights starting in a courtsey position and then moving upwards after switch on. I enjoyed this bit of trickery until they stuck in the downward mode. Now on dark lanes anything over 50mph is a gamble, which in Cornwall is a lot of road. My first 911, but had a 365 which spun like a top in the wet and had a suction noise from it's two twin chokes on full throttle almost as delightful as the whistle around 6000rpm in the 911. Love that car !! Many thanks Dave

POST 2Original post

I dont know the reason for the headlights sticking but I think its your Xenons warming up, the movement? I could be totally wrong! Edward

POST 4Original post

Must agree. If the 996 is the same as the 997, there is a self levelling to gauge the weight of the car contents. If you're a fat bar-steward like me it makes a difference. Don't know why they should stick down though, your 10 mates weren't sat on the back when you started up? Pete

...thanks for that. Musn't be a common problem. I might just kick the wing and see what happens, no only joking. The self levelling device sounds fave. Thanks, Dave update...apparently headlights gone into safe mode, ie dipped. So a plug in the laptop job to find error messages.
