Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

A small scratch has appeared on my offside front wheel arch. It appears to have only taken the laquer off and the colour is still there. Tried some tea cut and polish and it has helped a lot but is there anything else i can use to improve on my results ? Steve

POST 2Original post

Scratch X ([link=http://www.meguiars.co.uk/]http://www.meguiars.co.uk/[/link]) or similar from various polish manufacturers.. I had a handbag scratch across my front wing removed perfectly by it.. garyw

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Gary. I'll give it a try Steve

POST 4Original post

+1 for scratchx i've done loads of freinds and my cars. don't forget to put some wax on after.

POST 5Original post

Any pics? Is it light or can you feel your fingernail grip it when you move across the scratch? A machine polisher like Porter Cable or Meguiars G220 can work wonders and give a very even finish.

POST 6Original post

Scrath X is basically a very, very mild abrasive and a filler - it will help, but won't permanently remove. The best way is a pro with a rotary. If you want more details, PM me. David
