Would like to relate an interesting? experience. Went to CA to pick up my 17 year old grandson to bring back to NM and do a little road trip. Just outside of Santa Maria he poped in a CD, Franz Ferdinand. On disk says DualDisc, CD/DVD. Well the thing would not eject, would not play and radio would not turn off. Planned on spending the night in Scottsdale anyway and took my Cayman in to Scottsdale Porsche. They had to overnight express a new radio/cd player and completely replace. They gave me a voucher for an Audi A6 Quatro for $20 a day. I assumed I would at least pay labor but zero charges. I was more than pleased. Still don't know how this happened. Was I just careless? Grandson felt responsible but kept telling him----not his fault. Who would know? Any other little secrets I need to know?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The key word here is DualDisc. A bastard format that never really took off, mating a DVD on one side, to a CD on the other. This was hugely controversial when they were released because they are very thick compared to a standard CD. In fact, almost all the big CE companies sent out warnings not to use them at one point, although most were rescinded. In fact, due to the thickness of the disc, and some other issues relative to its physical form, the CD side, technically speaking, can not even be called a CD. I have a few, and there are warnings up the ying-yang on the disc case advising that it may not play in all players. I personally would not load one in any slot-loaded CD drive, although YMMV. Brian
There was one small print warning on the back. Thanks for the information and I guess you live and learn!
