The manual, p18 says The remote-control standby function switches off after 7 days If the vehicle is not started or unlocked with the remote control within five days, the remote control standby function is switched off This contradicts itself ... 7 or 5 days. p. 232 says Load switch-off after 2 hours or 7 days If the vehicle is not started or unlocked with the remote control within 7 days, the remote control standby function is switched off So which one is right ... 5 or 7 days?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I'm not sure which it is, but if you unlock the door manually, either relock/open it with the remote or start the car quickly or the alarm will sound!
From my traveling when the car wasn't started, 7 days seems to be my experience.
I would have to agree, it is 7 days. Based solely on my travel schedule and the fact that after 5-6 days my remote still works.
I learned this lesson the loud way! As to the number of days, the service manager at the dealership said 5 days, but like others, I've found that the remote still works after that point in time - perhaps it's dependent on how the car is optioned?
