4. Fit drive belt.
Note
Visuallyinspect the condition of the belt; remove
foreign objects from the grooves if necessary.
Observe running direction (colour pen marking).
Installation
1. Fit drive belt by hand, slightly pre-tensioned,
in the following sequence:
1. Coolant pump drive pulley(1)
2. Alternator drive pulley (2) 229_97
3. Deflection roller 1 (3)
2. Visuallycheck whether the belt is correctly 4. Power steering pump drive pulley (4)
positioned on all drive pulleys. 5. Air-conditioningcompressor drive pulley (5)
6. Crankshaft pulley (6)
3. Install air cleaner assembly 7. Tensioningroller (7)
4. Connectthe battery.Then turn the tensioning roller (7) in clockwise
direction and simultaneouslyfit the drive belt 5. Performtightnesstest.
