In the case of deviations from nominal values,the Tiptronic control module detects whether shifting was performed mechanicallyor hydraulically. If no other faults are stored, there is a mechanical/hydraulicfault in the transmission. The following procedure can be used to check whether the transmission actuallyshifted to the correct gear in each case: -The ATF temperature must be between 40 °C and 95 °C. -Hold gears 2 ...5 in the manualgate. Drive at a constant vehicle speed on level ground (not on the roller test stand) and read off the engine speed.
