4. Set the setting collar of measuring mandrel
VW 385/1 to the dimension "a".

1. Install gear set with adjusting shims "S3", "S4" if. ~ and "S5", and tighten all hexagon-headbolts ~=
for the tensioning plate to 25 Nm (19 ftlb.).
2. Shift into 4th gear,
3. Fix the drive shaft with special tool 9253 and a = approx. 65 mm 37O_99
tighten the collar nut for the pinion shaft to
