Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

Ive hesitated to change anything though because the stock suspension on Bilsteins is just so good all around.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm a novice looking for a fun project. I found an inexpensive 996 C2 Coupe 6-speed, and am interested in a mild safari build, 1.5" - 2" lift. Intention is mostly on-road but occasionally using it for dirt roads to mountain-bike and hiking trailheads. Nothing extreme, more of a "fun build" than an overlanding rig. I do definitely care about on-road manners but I'm not expecting it to ever handle like stock. I know elephant racing offers comprehensive kits, but it looks like those quickly hit $15K. Wondering if anyone has done a budget-ish build and can provide some guidance on parts lists. I've not done anything like this in the past, but friends assure me that anything that can be un-bolted, can be re-bolted.

This New Porsche 911 Off-Road Lift Kit Is Your Ticket to a Budget 911 Dakar I guess this is something new, not sure looks like for C4 only tho

POST 3Original post

Ive seriously considered doing this with my 2000 C4. I looked into the Feals suspension kits which can raise a 996 as much as 1" over stock height. Ive hesitated to change anything though because the stock suspension on Bilsteins is just so good all around. I like the looks of a lowered one and like the the thought of a Safari 911 and all of that, but so far Ive just stayed stock because it does everything pretty well.
