Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anybody know what the part number is for the C4s rear alloys? I have searched and searched but there are so many different types c: These are the one's I have found - Turbo Look II (BBS) 996.362.140.02 996.362.140.04 996.362.142.01 996.362.142.31 Any help appreciated :thumb:

POST 2Original post

Hope this will help you. What are the tyres sizes on the back wheels? If they're 285 then a 10" rim will do. If they're 295 then you might need to go to an 11" rim. By checking your ET, you should be able to determine which wheel suits your car. ~ Maxie

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

You really are putting all my fires out today mate :thumb: That is where I got my info from, but there are way too many there for me to distinguish which are mine, especially when the car is in my garage at home :? Is there not just ONE part no. for a C4s rear?? I have spoken to my OPC and even they are stoked, they just price me on the turbo wheel which is lighter and wider IIRC?

POST 4Original post

Ok...I think I've worked it out albeit crudely. The correct part no. for the rear wheel of a 996 C4S is 996.362.142.01. I have a 10" wheel on my narrow body 996 with ET65 and tyre width 285mm; if you were to put the same size wheel on a C4S, then the wheels would look 'pushed in' because you have a wide body car. So this reduces the choice down to part numbers 996.362.142.01 or 996.362.142.31 (11" or 12" options respectively). I would think either will do, but in the interests of minimising unsprung weight, costs and the fact that standard C4S rear tyres are only 10mm wider than mine, it must be the 11" option for you. I hope another existing or previous 996 C4S owner can confirm. One other piece of advice - don't expect OPCs to give you detailed knowledge about anything. Speak to the indies, they are far more knowledgeable. You'll also get a lot of help from the enthusiasts on this forum. ~ Maxie

Just to confuse things a bit more, I looked at the latest PET, and 996.362.142.01 has been replaced by 996.362.142.10. It also seems that there are different wheels for 02-03 models and 04 models.
