Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My 996 seesm to have lost the compressor- is this something i need ot replace... when do you actually need it? Does the spacesaver not hold pressure well over time?

POST 2Original post

Only the C4 has a compressor as standard kit - as even the space-saver tyre doesn't fit in the compartment when it's inflated!

POST 3Original post

Porsche ones are silly money but if you want original equipment i think they touch £130 whereas you could probably get a cheap one from halfrauds or some place similar.. like stated the c4s/ turbo model tyre is deflated to fit where it is..

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks guys. only want one if i need it- which it sounds like i dont from these answers...

POST 5Original post

The GT3 has one too, quite simply one of the most useful devices I've had in a car. I use it at all trackdays to re-inflate, to check/inflate tyres on my wife's Mini etc When you've got a flat on that cold winter's night you'll be glad you had one in the car irrespective of a skinny spare/tyre foam or not!
