I rang my local OPC and they told me to bring it down and they would sort it out. When I got down there the service manager drove the car into the service bays whilst my son and I looked at the secondhand cars. The service manager beconed me into the service bay where there were four guys around the car(two service reception, mechanic and tyre man.).I had a good half hour chat with these people whilst the headlight was being sorted, which turned out to be broken plastic holder for the headlight power unit that was repaired with a longer screw.

The only comment came from the tyre guy who said that the front tyres are wearing quite badly on the inside edges that I was aware of and was intending to sort out next month.I used the situation to my advantage and negotiated two new Perelli P Zero Rosso 225/40/18 N4 for the same price Black Circle Tyres and the geometery alignment for 15% discount and nitrogen in all four tyres.

On the last major service they indicated the pads an discs were running low but no pressure at all to change just a courtesy comment.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a 2003 996 Carerra and was having problems when driving over bumps in the night, the passenger side headlight would go on and off, indicator not working etc.
I unlocked the headlight unit took it out and everything looked ok so put the headlight back in but could not lock it back in place.

I had a nice cup of coffee,my son a pocket of sweets and a good look at the new cars.
When my car was ready I asked how much the bill was and was told NOTHING.
If the OPC were rip off merchants I guess they could have said that I needed a new headlight unit and charged me for an hours labour.
Although I have three independants near me I will probably use the OPC if I can get good service,a reasonable discount off work done and not feel I am being riped off.
I had an enjoyable experience so well done OPC.
Ian.
That's a great story Ian, I'm glad that there's some balanced reports.
Whilst I've been giving Guildford OPC a hard time, I'm still in 2 minds as to what sort of treatment I'll get in December (warranty renewal).
Certainly hoping for a positive result. :thumb:

I'm sure they won't mind me naming names, but for service speak to Martin Wright, and for sales speak to Ian Peters. Both excellent guys that looked after me well.
Guildford were pretty good when I bought the car (got it at a local dealer and then got them to 111 point check and warranty it)
Have to say that Bournemouth are fantastic - well in the service dept they are anyway, not tried their sales team.
Well, well, well! That's fantastic news! Long may it continue! Maybe Wales can set the standard here?!
(Nathan the tyre guy has agreed to match Windway on price for two new rear Michelin Pilots for me which I thought was great! I'd never have even considered asking them for a quote. Glad I did!)
Adrian.
Hi,
Think I will add my 2 penneth. I bought from Cardiff OPC and have found them most reasonable over the last 2.5 years. Had good courtesy cars from them and never had the additional oil added to my bill.
Hospitality events are brilliant and Ian Peters is a true enthusiast. On the last major service they indicated the pads an discs were running low but no pressure at all to change just a courtesy comment. Even had a good price on tyres and battery huge difference from the prices quoted here from certain more south easterly OPC's!!!
All in all Wales is the place boys, great scenery, lovely women, (my wife is Welsh) and great driving roads. The A470 is defo worth a blast.
Alan.
Its so good to hear some good comments about OPC's..
I will definetly give Guildford a ring...
Just going to keep my car away from the Chiswick area, my experience Porsche drivers get mugged the legal way!!
