Suggestion
I did not notice any significant sound change after installing the headers from Milltek with the AWE catback exhaust (article coming soon) but the headers were good for another 8-9HP or so at the rear wheels, again all of the details will be in the article.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

looking at milltech, tubi, awd, fabspeed and getting confused.
which one of them have the full system, meaning header, cat, muffler, everything from engine back out to exhaust tip.
Mooty,
Can I be of assistance?
Milltek - Complete system - headers with cats, and a complete catback system, new version allows for their tips or someone elses
Fabspeed - Complete system - headers with cars, and a complete catback, unsure of tip situation, will ask Kenny to cover in his article
AWE - Catback system and optional AWE tips or use your existing ones (currently in testing on my car)
Tubi - Cayback system only, no tip options, some complaints of resonance.
B&B - jury is out, they haven't provided us with enough info or followed through on earlier statements so I don't have enough info to render an opinion at this time.
Milltek HP/Torque gains are well documented in an article, likewise Kenny's article should document for Fabspeed and I have another article coming shortly on the AWE system alone and in concert with Milltek headers.
Did you decide you needed more power?
I'm looking forward to your report on the AWE exhaust. I have been told there are two revisions of the Tubi. I have been told that the second edition does not suffer from resonance but that the first does.
thanx ken.
no, the system is for my coworker who's too lazy to do her own research. but hey, i love to help OTHERS spend their hard earned money. i can' t do exhasut, i spend 8-10 day at laguna seca each year. i can't pass sound check even with stock exhaust. i have to run a turn down away from the sound station as is ;-(
Just depends on what you want to polish. The Milltek mufflers are polished as are the tips and those stay shiny. Those are what you see from outside the car. Take for example the headers, those turn blue and you don't see them unless the car is on the lift so it really doesn't matter if they are polished or not.
I am waiting for Ken's report on the AWE Catback system! Both alone and with Milltek Headers.
I'm leaning towards that Catback but want to see how it performs with the different headers. If the AWE and Milltek pair up well then I am going with that combo./fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/thumbs_up.gif
Hey everyone,
FYI the FABSPEED system does offer polished stainlesssteeltips (i have them). I sent pics to K-man-s along with the write up. You will be able to see the headers, cat-back, and the tipsboth pre-installation and post instillation to get an idea of what they look like. Also K-man-s has a sound clip from me and I'm sending him some more. Alsoif anyone wants any info on the FABSPPED system before K-man-s gets the article posted for me (waiting for the software upgrade) please feel free to ask me. I strongly suggest you wait until all articles have been posted on all the different systems before considering a purchase for they all vary in fit, finish, sound, and I'm sure performance.
I got to hear my AWE exhaust today and I think it sound a little louder/edgier than the Milltek exhaust, more on this as I get the article done, etc. Just wanted to give a thumbs up that I think it sounds good, goes on the dyno tomorrow for testing.
kenny: i have a fabspeed exhaust too and according to the shop that i asked to order and installed, fabspeed does not provide a tip for their exhaust and i was left with a standard tip.
can you explain more about this? i really dont like the stock tip.
tokz,
I hear ya on the stock tips i think there awful. Did you buy your exhaust directly from fabspeed yourself or did someone else order it for you? in any case they do have tips. here a pic.
I have a nice sound clip also but i cant get it loaded. I really hope K-man-s can get my article posted with the sound clip soon so you all can hear. Did you get headers also?? They made the biggest difference for me. The cat-back was nice but the headers are were it's at!!
I did not notice any significant sound change after installing the headers from Milltek with the AWE catback exhaust (article coming soon) but the headers were good for another 8-9HP or so at the rear wheels, again all of the details will be in the article.
In addition to the Milltek headers, I have the TUBI (maybe the second version?) and it just sounds awesome /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/thumbsup.gifGot the Tubi from Champion. Actually since I am in Florida this week, I am visiting Victor Ortiz tomorrow AM to check on their new ECU program and a few other goodies. Anyone in the area willing to meet COCO? see you in Pompano around noon. /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/dance.gif
kenny: i asked a shop to help me ordered the exhaust. according to them, they ordered it from fabspeed directly.
do they charge additional for the tip?or does it come together with the tip?
nah, i didnt get the headers. it will be way over my budget. maybe a future mod.

Hey gang,
am a bit of a "mod" newbie, i have been reading the site as usual to get information on an exhaust system and i think i have norrow it down to the AWE and the MIlltek, but my car vernacular is lacking so pardon my newbie question,
Ken says that the Milltek - Complete system - headers with cats, and a complete catback system, new version allows for their tips or someone elses
AWE - Catback system and optional AWE tips or use your existing ones (currently in testing on my car)
I read the articles on the Milltek and the AWE that you guys did.
Silly question, what are "headers with cats", a catback, and tips?
Let me guess, the tips are the standard exhaust tips that come with the car or you can buy 3rd party.
The catback and headers with cats am not too sure.
One last question, the Milltek, on their website it says, 22HP + 15 lp of Torque gains, while the AWE is 11hp and 9lb of Torque gains. In real world situation, I don't think I would be able to tell the difference. But in our ever supersized nation that the more is better... Milltek with headers and cats (like i said, i have no idea what this means and it is necessary to have?) is like $3k, while without them is like $2k and the AWE is $1.6k.
Also, here in Silicon Valley, AWE systems can be installed by Dynosports racing in San Jose. So one last question, even though I am a newbie mod, and Cayman owner and wanting to dig in and do it myself. Should I even bother or have a pro do it?
