Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Prevoius owner mentioned nothing of modifications and have just renewed the warranty with no probs on the 1111 point check.
Leading evidence: 'Replace warranty' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check video' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Flippin heck, I had to double check the video to see if you'd speeded it up.

Maybe its just the way it is, one of those cars running 'just right' :thumb:
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Evening people
I've had my x50 996tt for almost 5 months now and still love it to bits. The thing is, its just too blimmin quick. On a cold day it sometimes boosts to 1.2 with traction coming on all the time
I even made a
of it, lol  (I put 'tuned' in the description because I just assumed it was, lol)
I drove my friends normal 996 tt and it was like half the power to mine. Prevoius owner mentioned nothing of modifications and have just renewed the warranty with no probs on the 1111 point check. Are x50's really that much boostier than normal ones? :?

looks and sounds like a Miltek exhaust.
get it on the dyno and you will know for sure. My pal has a dyno dynamics and he keeps on at me to organise a Porsche day.
EDIT:
If it boosts to 1.2 its definitely mapped too.
Presumably remapped....something like the Revo would increase the boost.
MY 996TT would normally do 1.0 or 1.1 bar so I presume the larger turbos on the X50 would do at least the same albeit slightly slower. With exhaust and remap should be pushing over 500bhp compared to the 420bhp of the standard 996TT.
Warranty would be easily renewed as they would not check the remap but if they noted the change in boost pressure then they could easily just reject any claims where they believe the remap could be the cause (engine/drivetrain etc).
Also ensure you
insurance
company know otherwise any claim could be rejected. Not hard to spot that you have a modifed car with a Youtube video and full registration plate :?
:floor: My thoughts exactly
With regards to boost I thought an x50 boosted to around 0.8 so I am guessing if you are regularly seeing 1.0 1.1 then it has been remapped. my standard 996tt was boosting to 0.6/ 0.7 with the odd 0.8 showing on lift off. Foot down after the Revo it is 0.9/ 1.0 although on one damp day it did momentarily show 1.4 when coming off the throttle having induced a 4 wheel wheelspin in second.
Got to love the turbo power
Cue Damian :hand:
Nope, that is my old car.
Is a standard x50 but with a DMS sports exhaust, producing 483 BHP as per the rolling road day in Wellingborough last year (many of the guys on the forum saw it).
It WAS mapped by DMS, to ~550 BHP but when it had the engine warranty work done they re-flashed the ECU with an updated, OEM map, which knocked the power back down.
All of this I told you when we were out in the car...you probably weren't listening as you were concentrating too much on keeping it in a straight line
Maybe the map has somehow reverted back to the DMS one?? Not sure that is physically possible though, check the dyno plots I gave you, one shows boost against BHP. I thought the chap from DMS told me 1 bar boost was normal, but it was over a year ago now that I had that conversation. If the boost in those plots is showing 1.0bar ish then you can reasonably expect the BHP to be the same, give DMS a call and ask them about it, they'll let you know what it should be standard and what it would be mapped.
Glad your still enjoying it!
I 'think' it was boosting 1.2-1.3 when i knew it had the DMS map on it. Also remember this has the 'latest' Porsche map for the X50 on it, not sure which revision, but I read somewhere there were 6 or 7 different maps for the same car!
If yours is an earlier one then it may boost differently.
