Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used an 01 TT as a daily driver for a year without a hiccup.

So really you could consider the TT to be less to maintain in a repair sense than a c4s due to the RMS issue??

TT will cost more to run but in general servicing terms not very much

Running costs are not that much dearer for a TT as long as you buy good one and have some form of warranty back up and have it indepenantly inspected

I test drove a C4s which was loveley, then i test drove an x50 TT and i bought it.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

That i can actually afford a 996 tt over the c4s. I personally love turbo cars so this is great news (i think).
Can some of you turbo owners (maybe non owners too) shed light on pros and cons of turbo over c4s.
Also anyone got a list of common probs on the 996tt 2001.
Is it also as "essential" to have a warranty on the 996 tt as it isto have one on a c4s, i.e. similar issues!
Thanks guys.
Mod Ed - NO LARGE CAPS TITLES !
TT = Supercar (and doesnt suffer from RMS issues)
C4S = Very nice 911

IMO, if you would prefer the turbo and you now think its affordable, do it
Considering the TTs you can now buy for under 35k were close to 50k 18 months ago, this really is a good time to buy one
I used an 01 TT as a daily driver for a year without a hiccup. Car cost me nothing bar standard servicing
God stuff mate, thanks.
So really you could consider the TT to be less to maintain in a repair sense than a c4s due to the RMS issue??
Is there a huge differance in performance between the 2?
Cheers
I test drove a C4s which was loveley, then i test drove an x50 TT and i bought it. if u like raw power over anything else get an x50 but the C4s drives and sounds awesome
I test drove both lots of times and ended up in a C4s
Yes the Turbo is quicker in a straight line, but the sound of a C4s with PSE is superb :worship:
In my opinion a decent Turbo will set you back £40k :thumb:
Early 30's
There are some about at 30k, but without looking at any of them its difficult to say whther they are good cars or not (some will be poor but some will still be good buys)
You can certainly buy an 01 facelifted car (02 model year) for under 35k now.
Supercar bargain of the century? most definitely
Yes there is a huge difference in performance. as I said a TT is a supercar, a C4S is avery nice sportscar but isnt in the same league performance wise.
TT will cost more to run but in general servicing terms not very much
Of course a TT could blow a turbo which a C4S cant but this is less likely than the chance of any normally aspirated 996 having RMS issues
Hi I was in exactly your position
realised a month ago i could afford a TT when I was looking at a C4s before
As of Tuesday I am now the poud owner of a spanking '03 TT
best thing I ever did
that car is awesome!
