Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Install somehow or some way' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install somehow or some way' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have an 06CS tip, i didnt buy the SC pacakge and i really regret it. Is there any way i can have this installed somehow or some way.. P,S, i dont need the stopwatch.. just the change in traction control, gear mapping (for tip), etc....
Im probably just being hopefull but i just thought i would ask.
There was someone that looked at changing out the panel so that it had the sport button, but I think they found there is a difference in the harness. I would be interested if I could just get the button. I don't want the stopwatch either.
of course you can. In the world oc PCNA you can have anything you want....if you are willing to pay. In this case all you need to do is trade your car in for one with SC and pay the difference in price. Done...
it would be very difficult and much more costly to retrofit...

I'm not sure how porsche does their ecu's.. What im saying is, is this a 'feature' that just needs to be enabled on existing ecu's to make it the same as one that had SC from the factor... (aside from the physical button being put in place), or is there entirely different software 'package' in the ecu.
GIAC indicated a few months ago that they were going to include SC in an updated FLASH for their
Cayman S
product. It sounded like SC would always be in the on position.
I am also interested in getting the SC 'turned on', but only for the remapping of the throttle (don't really care about a built-in stop watch).
Does anyone know if the GIAC flash remaps the throttle? If so, is it like the SC remapping, or is it a more linear map?
From what I understand, the
ECU
is in modules and the
ECU
is programmed for what options on the car, not for everything... when the car is assembled, the specific wiring harness for that car is matched up with the specific
ECU
for that car and installed... you can't just plop a button in the dash and expect the
Sport Chrono
to magically begin working - the spot for the button might exist, but the wiring harness does not have the wiring for the option. I think what Neil is talking about is the re-mapping for the throttle response, a-la
Sport Chrono
, when they do the
ECU
flash.

Just worried about that whole warranty issue... no one seems to 'really' know the answer to wether or not it will void the warranty and can/cannot be detected... sigh.. oh well.
Some chip flashes can, and others can't be detected - if you're planning to do one, get any claims of non-detectability in writing from the tuner you buy it from. And there are some who claim they can't be detected when, in fact they can be. The dealer probably won't make it an issue, even if they detect it, EXCEPT in the case where something happens to the engine or other drive train parts of the car that could have been effected by the change in the
ECU
. In that case, they may not cover the damage under the warranty. Some dealers do
ECU
flashes as affiliates of these tuning companies, and even though they did the work, I'd still get any promises in writing.

SC just remaps the throttle to make it racier......no power increase. After driving a GIAC equipped CS I was pretty impressed....you can actually tell there IS more power (unlike SC).......not a huge increase but you can definitely tell the difference. IMO it felt much better than a stock CS with SC on. BTW.....this was a CS with no SC from the factory. I believe the GIAC software pretty much nulls out the SC effect on throttle response.....it's just better all around.......upped throttle response and more HP.
Worry about warranty! Try Revotechnik.com!
They can regrammed your
ecu
to different fuel settings and store your standard setting via SRS.You can restore your standard setting when service your car or insurance claim. You can then reprogramme the tuned prog via your
OBD
port after service. This company got good feedback from uk and hong kong for tuning Porsche and VW cars.
No matter who you go with, if it were me, I would still insist on a written guarantee of any claims they make of non-detectability. You would be very surprised at what the Porsche electronics readers can find.
