I put the miltek in recently with just the cat-back, keeping the stock headers for now. I just wanted to post a few notes where the install differs from the writeup ken did in his article.
the 2 primary differences are that:
1. the O2 sensors are all in the headers so you don't need to remove them at all,
2. The studs in the stock header flange must be removed to allow for isnatllation of longer bolts that come with the catback. It may be possible to use the stock studs, I didn't even try as one broke during removal and they looked to small when I measured.
to remove the studs it was necessary to heat them with a torch. Once hot they came right out with a little persuasion from a dead blow and punch. They are press fit in so you will not get them out w/o heating them or putting them in a press (which requires header removal of course). But even a small propane torch would probably work fine. once out the new bolts supplied fit right in, and it all went together quite easily.
I think thats the only difference...

How did it sound? Did you notice any power change?
how did it sound?? it sounded like 'Vroom Vroom'...
sounded stock at first, but once I put a few miles in and broke in the packing it got deeper and louder than stock, but in the cabin its still just as quiet. Outside it sounds sweet though, just like the sound clips floating around.
Big power gains throughout the curve... the majority of the reported gains from the full system are due to the cat back. Adding the headers will help, of course, but not as much percentage wise. hopefully we can get a dyno run done soon to compare though...

I installed mine with the stock header studs without any problems. I assumed they threw in the bolts assuming you were getting headers as well.
Use some penetrating oil on the stock ones an hour or so before you remove the nuts.

Can you use OEM exhaust tips with Milltek? Or do you have to buy Milltek exhaust tips too?
titanic - Milltek’s cat-back exhaust have dual outlet pipes, so it requires separate tips. Our OEM exhaust has merged pipes that requires OEM type merged tips.

There is an OEM dual-tube design (XLA). Would that fit the Milltek?

It will be interesting to see the gains with catback only.
titanic - No, as those are also merged tips.
