Suggestion

I've heard that replacing the clips with decent ones (BMW?) makes a difference.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a noise that has become progressively worse over the last 10 or so days. It is present from within the drivers door, it is of an intermittent nature. Sounds like a spring vibrating against a surface. So Saturday is the day I shall remove the interior door trim to investigate. I assume other than disconnecting the battery there are no issues. Has anyone experienced a similar noise, or removed interior door trim.

POST 2Original post

Taking it off is not so bad. Be careful not to damage the foam membrane behind the door card (the slightest hole can result in water getting in to the cabin). When reassembling, be extrememly careful not to trap the cable to the back of the internal door lever. Easily done do to its proximity to one of the main bolts.

POST 3Original post

They all do that sir... If its like mine, light pressure on the door grab handle stops it. I'd be interested to know if you come up with a fix. I've heard that replacing the clips with decent ones (BMW?) makes a difference.
