Having been banned for life from Rennlist (basically for refusing to pay a fee so I can reveal how our racing sumps have been used for a decade of successful racing in the UK when they have a serious unreliability problem over there costing competitors a small fortune) the recent independent proof of our other developments (that are increasing performance and dramatically reducing fuel consumption and therefore reducing greenhouse emissions) will also now not be allowed to be read by their readership.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Having been banned for life from Rennlist (basically for refusing to pay a fee so I can reveal how our racing sumps have been used for a decade of successful racing in the UK when they have a serious unreliability problem over there costing competitors a small fortune) the recent independent proof of our other developments (that are increasing performance and dramatically reducing fuel consumption and therefore reducing greenhouse emissions) will also now not be allowed to be read by their readership. Anyone interested in these reports should read them on this forum and posts entitled "Car trouble and various ...etc" and also "M96 Big bore....etc". In case you are interested I refused to pay fees to the the forum owners to post technical advice that was offered FOC when we had no intention of supplying the American market and it takes hours of my time to do so. Apparently you can only describe a technical advantage of a product on a technical post - if you pay them to do so! I explained that the American market is too large for us to supply from the UK but was called a liar by Rennlist and accused of various other untrue things. They should now be being investigated for what I think is a form of Cartel by their authorities. Our solution will be to try and increase our capacity and find a way to offer our superior products to them as well - more for their benefit than ours - they seem to need serious assistance weeding out a lot of poorly engineered solutions that we also found didn't work over here and why. At least I got a bit of notoriety out of it to laugh at! What a shame that readers of Technical reports on Rennlist are only allowed to read part of a story from those that pay for the privilege. Baz

POST 2Original post

The American sites are crap anyway. They're tha full of pop-ups and ads it makes so hard to navigate around. Wouldn't be surprised if a certain person was behind this Baz.

POST 3Original post

Rennlist & 6speedonline are run by an awful firm called Internet Brands. Horrible, nasty and prejudiced moderators. Me and the other half have been banned from both - all the best people have been don't worry about it in fact wear it as a badge of honour

POST 4Original post

Forums are often just businesses masquerading as a community so payment is part of the model to generate revenue. I would lose no sleep over what has occurred as I am sure that most 911 owners visit most 911 sites and therefore your 'words' will be found by those who need them most. And as far as racing goes, if your product is a winner then everyone who races in your category will already know you/your company/ your products/ and the names of those who beat them using your products. Not your loss at all.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I agree with your logic but it doesn't seem to work that way% if you read the Rennlist topic of oil pressure instability you will find owners sticking to American products and suffering multiple engine failures (one 30 in 3 years) yet still apparently blinded by a combination of National loyalty (nothing wrong with that in principle) and high tech talk with graphs and data recorded results while still having oil pressure problems themselves. I'm not bothered about being banned. Just don't like seeing anyone being misled or ripped off wherever they are from! Baz

POST 6Original post

Baz, how about this for a way forward: Research which Porsche magazine in the USA has the biggest circulation and write an article for them. Contributions are hard to come by for magazines which is why a fair % of articles, especially in uk classic car magazines, are re prints of articles from 10 years earlier. lazy but cheap journalism. I think such an article would have a greater degree of authority simply because you would not get the tribal or vested interests picking your words to pieces.

POST 8Original post

Baz's ban from RL is truly ridiculous. Others that received the chop or wrist slaps from RL in the US started 996outpost as an alternative for those of us who like to pass on the good, bad and ugly; and are allowed to put the idiocracy aside. I am very grateful for Baz, Jake, Charles, and the 911UK folks like Alex, DeMort, Martin, et al. These gents, and all the other helpful souls, are what help make my ownership enjoyable, not fretful. Thank you Mr Hart! As an aside for the conspiracy crowd, I doubt a certain Georgian has anything but deep respect for Baz. Those two have massive 'P" brains stuffed with a cornucopia of arcane, magical Porsche knowledge. They aren't competitors and both probably haven't the time or inclination to engage in useless spats. My tuppence.

POST 9Original post

Baz, that ban is utter and complete BS. But, rest assured that many of us, quiet majority very much appreciate and respect your contributions. No matter, as I'm more than glad to read your input over here :drink:

POST 10Original post

Definitely not one of our fave forums. Considered sponsoring it once upon a time but its a bit of a viper nest...

POST 11Original post

Doesn't sound like a big deal Baz - more their loss than yours :thumb: I've spent quite a bit of time in the 944 sub-forum and never had any issues, perhaps the 996 forum is a bit more clicky?
