I am having major problems with the key sensitivity problems. I DID do a search and went to the files section and could not download the file that I thought applies.
Is there a solotion to the key sensitivity problem? Are dealers aware of it?
I see no reason why I should have to worry about it all the time, how and where I carry my key. I am tired of it. I feel it is the dealers/
Porsche
problem, that they are aware of. Prior to delivery of my car, I gave that as an issue that I wanted to be sure was taken care of before I got my car. It was not.
So again, is there a solution of the key sensitivity problem? If so, do dealers know it, and are some using it? My dealer is unaware of such and says that it will go away with time. That doesn't suffice for me. I will go away in time too...hopefully many years from now....
Where can I find a copy of a solution so that I can give it to my dealer please? It is getting annoying and I strongly believe that
Porsche
/dealer should fix it.
Thanks.

There is a TSB about this issue. The dealer will change the timing in
PIWIS
so that you have to depress the buttons longer to get the trunk lids to release. Call your dealer about this TSB 9669 it is an update from TSB 9662:

Here is the key modification:

And if it is any consolation my Audi key is more sensitive than my
Cayman
key. So a small adjustment in my habits made the problems go away for both cars.
I would recommend the Mods4Cars solution to the problem.

Thanks for the links. I did see them in the Files Section. I didn't think that the first one applied. I tried to download the second one previously, but it does not download for me, before or now. The first one does.
Thanks.

The key wears in and the sensitivity reduces over time. My key rarely misbehaves any more at all.
The official fix -- increasing the delay -- doesn't seem good to me. If you sit on the key, it will be pushed for a while. And it also means you must push longer when you want it to work.
The unofficial fix -- grinding down the switches -- seems much better. I did it, and it's fixed (though the big key is still uncomfortable in my pocket).
Can someone restore the broken download of the second fix?
Looks like the orginal link has been taken down - I can't find it again.
Since both of my cars (but not my trucks) have sensitive keys I've learned to be aware of where my key is, to not put it in my jeans pockets when working around the car, to check the status of doors, hatch and trunk when leaving the car. Simple, cheap and effective and I feel more engaged in the art of life.
I don't feel that it should be my reponsibility to do that. The key should not be that sensitive, and whose responsibility should it be to fix it? Same with the trunk clunk (I don't have that).

Thanks all for your responses. They have really been most helpful. I have relayed the two possible fixes for the issue, given herein, to my dealer.

I found that I had a copy of the fix that I downloaded previously from this site. I've attached it here.
